The Syndicators Use New Type of Amplification Equipment
Band is Selected to Help Launch Bose's New Personalized Amplification System(tm)
October 15, 2003 - The Syndicators are very proud to have been chosen to participate in the "BoseŽ Sound Alive program" with Bose to help them launch their new Personalized Amplification System(tm) family of products. The band was hand-picked to be one of only 24 music acts who will be representing Bose in live music venues nationwide. Check what's doin' or Bose's website for when the band will be using it, or just take a look next time you come out to hear them. They might be playing on the new Bose gear.
The Syndicators first heard of this opportunity through a connection they have to the Washington, D.C. area Jazz scene, and attributes their selection a little bit to Karma and mostly to real good luck. This program is not like what you would expect from a normal sponsorship. Bose, whether you love 'em or hate 'em, has come up with a different approach to live music amplification. The band feels it's one that makes sense, and that it's one that's going to have an impact on what you hear at their live performances. There is no obligation for the band to say nice things about it, just to do the best job possible to make great music using Bose's new thang. All the nice things they may say are fringe benefits.
What might you expect? Look for volume levels to be much more even throughout the venue - loud and clear in the back and, oddly, not much louder right up next to the stage. Listen for the voices and instrument sounds on-stage to be coming from the general direction of the guy making the noise. Listen to see if the vocals aren't clean and clear, and musical details that normally get lost in a wash of sound don't jump out at you now. And look to see if there aren't a few unfamiliar faces in the audience -- Bose is advertising some of the Syndicators' performances on their web site, and musicians are starting to ask where they can go to hear this new system.
The band is really enjoying the difference the Personalized Amplification System(tm) is having on their sound, and is looking forward to their first few times trying it out on live audiences.
